Super Bowl XLIV Party Ideas

Ideas, Invitations, Party Supplies, Decorations and Party Favors

I can't wait for Super Bowl XLIV! Yes, even the Party Girl, notorious for her lack of sports knowledge, loves the Super Bowl. Why? It's a great party and a great day to celebrate with family and friends! Lots of food, drinks, party decorations, games and fun all in one day.

There are a ton of great Super Bowl XLIV party supplies on the market to make your celebration fun and simple (and inexpensive) to put together!  Enjoy and Go Browns!  (They will be in the Super Bowl this year, right?)

Super Bowl XLIII Invitations

We have a new personalized Super Bowl XLIV invitation that we created just for Super Bowl 2010! Throw some football confetti in the envelope to make it extra special.

Super Bowl invitations are another great option. Just fill in your party information, throw them in the mail, and you are all set!

Or choose a football ticket invitation in green or light blue to match the colors of Super Bowl XLIV.  You get to use your own wording, and can order as few as 30.  So these are perfect for a Super Bowl XLIV bash!

Super Bowl XLIII Decorations and Party Supplies

Greet your guests with a football yard sign.  If you're in a warm weather city, you can tie balloons off the sign as well.  They are inexpensive, but will have big impact.

Hang football lights on a string around the room or across a buffet table.  I would go to a local party store and buy inexpensive streamers in the colors of the two teams playing in the Super Bowl.  These can be hung across the ceiling.  Or, get balloons in the same colors and have a few bouquets for each time scattered around.  (Most party stores will have Super Bowl XLIII Mylar balloons and Mylar balloons with the logos from the teams playing that would be great in the bouquets). Or go with these great football shaped balloons.

I'd hand everyone (well, everyone over 21) a beer as they walk in - dressed in a ref's shirt drink holder.  They'll get a laugh from that one!

Super Bowl Table Decorations and Menu

We all know Super Bowls are about food as much as eating, so I'd go all out on my food table decorations.  Of course use all the Super Bowl XLIII theme paper goods.  They have plates, cups and napkins in multiple sizes. Snacks can be served in small football mini bowls throughout the room or on larger Super Bowl tray. It's not fancy, but it doesn't need to be!

Want your guests to REALLY love you? Give them each a football platter that they can load up with food and sit on their lap on the couch.  Put an inflatable football cooler filled with ice and beer or soda near their feet and they won't move all night!  (But they will be happy!) Stick personalized personalized beer bottle labels on the bottlesfor a unique touch.

Food isn't tough. Go buffet style. Here's my mouthwatering menu:

Appetizer/Snacks/Dinner

• Nachos - fully loaded!

• Potato chips and onion dip

• Pretzels and other "snacks" - Doritos, Cheetos, etc.

• Mozzarella Sticks

• Mini pigs in a blanket - get a 40 pack (or 2!) of frozen dogs at the grocery store.

• Veggies and dip

• M&Ms in the colors of the teams playing (you can get these at the M&Ms website)

• Wings

• Pizza

Drinks

• Beer (with a personalized label)

• Pop

• Bottled Water (with a personalized label)

Dessert

• Assorted Cookies (everyone will be so full by now, you won't need much!)

Super Bowl Activities

A Super Bowl Pool Board betting game is perfect for your Super Bowl XLIII party.  Use ours or create your own.  Here's how it works:

• Sell each square on the grid for a set amount of money.  Play big or small.

• Numbers 0-9 are assigned randomly across the rows and down the columns after bets are places and squares are bought. (Draw out of a hat for the order of numbers for each row and column)

• The numbers beside each team name represent the last digit in the score for that team. For example, if the score were "AFC team 14- NFC team 3", then whoever's name is in the square under the "4" of the AFC team and the "3" of NFC would win.

The betting board is a great way to keep people interested in the game!

We also like Super Bowl Commercial Bingo!  Create a blank bingo board and pass them out to your guests.  Have them fill out the rows and columns with products/companies they think will have commercials during the game.  Or, different concepts for commercials (dogs playing poker, horses on the internet, etc).  As the commercials are aired, people get to mark off the boxes on their boards that are correct!  The first to get Bingo wins a prize!
