White and light blue are the colors of the flag of the state of Bavaria, the largest state in Germany. Another great option is to use colors of the German flag, and decorate the party in red, black and gold. Make sure to have oomp pa pa music playing. |

Oktoberfest Decorating Ideas:
- The colors of Bavaria, blue and white, are the traditional Oktoberfest hues, so carry this theme throughout your party whether it's the balloons, crepe paper, or confetti. A diamond pattern in blue and white is also Oktoberfest tradition, so include this in your table cloths.
- Have your guests choose their tables based on their favorite types of beer. Label each table with a different type (i.e. lager, wheat, pilsner, pale ale), and include a picture of your favorite brand along with the table number on the sign.
- It isn't an Oktoberfest party without beer! Set up a beer tasting bar where friends and family can sample new and exotic brews. Keep a separate cooler of the same brands, so guests can take their favorite to drink.
- Have your guests pair their favorite beer with a brat at your DIY Brat Bar! Set out a warming tray of freshly grilled brats along with bowls of caramelized onions, sauerkraut, jalapenos, Swiss cheese, chili, relish, and spicy brown mustard.
- Pile beaded necklaces on tables so guests can decorate themselves. Plus, the necklaces work as currency for drinking games that are bound to ensue.
- Purchase an assortment of glass or plastic beer steins that guests can use during the party and then take home as favors.
