Who am I? (Christmas Edition)

Ingredients

  • Index cards

  • Tape

To Play

  • Write the names of Christmas related characters on index cards, and tape one card to the back of each guest.  Here are some ideas:

    • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

    • Santa

    • Frosty the Snowman

    • The Grinch

    • Nutcracker

    • Mrs. Claus

    • Scrooge

    • Dasher, Dancer , Prancer, Vixen, ect.

    • Partridge in a Pear Tree

  • Have everyone walk around in the same room, and instruct them not to mention the character on each person's back, but to talk to everyone as if they are the person on their card.

  • As people begin to correctly guess their identity, they have to continue to treat the people who still don't know their identity like the character whose name is taped to their back.

  • When everyone guesses their "true identity", then the game is over.

Sticker Stalker

Ingredients

  • One sheet of Christmas stickers per guest

To Play

  • When guests begin to arrive at your house, give each guest a pack/sheet of 10 Christmas stickers.
  • The object of this game is to get rid of all your stickers by sticking them on the other guests (One sticker per guest).
  • However, if the guest you are "stickering" catches you, he/she gets to stick one of his/her stickers on you.  If you are "caught", you must temporarily take your sticker back, and you can try to sticker that same person later (at your own risk).
  • But if someone falsely accuses you of "stickering" him/her, then you can automaticallyput one of your stickers on that person.
  • The first one to get rid of all 10 of their original stickers is the winner!
Touchy Feely

Ingredients

  • Small Christmas related items

  • Bag or box with a lid

  • Paper and pencils

To Play

  • Put several small Christmas objects in a bag or a box (make sure nothing is sharp or pokey).

  • As your guests arrive, have them put their hand inside the basket/box and feel around for the various objects.

  • Here are some ideas for your mystery bag/box:

    • Jingle Bell

    • Mini Stocking

    • Chestnut

    • Small Snow Globe

    • Christmas Light Bulb

    • Pinecone

    • Candy Cane

  • As soon as each person feels around the box, have them write down what they thought was in the box.  Whoever guesses the most items correctly wins a prize.

Christmas Carol Completions

Ingredients

  • Index cards

To Play

  • Before your guests arrive, write a line from a Christmas carol in two different pieces on index cards.  For example, write "Frosty the Snowman" on one card, and it's match, "is a fairytale they say" on another card.  Here are some lines to get you started:

    • Christmas is here -  bringing good cheer (Carol of the Bells)

    • Come on, it's lovely weather - for a sleigh ride together with you (Sleigh Ride)
    • Say Hello to friends you know - and everyone you meet (Holly Jolly Christmas)
    • Dashing through the snow - On a one-horse open sleigh (Jingle Bells)
    • She didn't see me creep - down the stairs to have a peep (I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus)
    • Jingle bell time is a swell time - to go riding in a one horse sleigh (Jingle Bell Rock)
    • It doesn't show signs of stopping - And I brought some corn for popping (Let It Snow)
    • He knows if you've been bad or good - So be good for goodness sake (Santa Claus is Coming to Town)
    • Although it's been said many times, many ways - Merry Christmas to you (The Christmas Song)
  • Tape a card to the front of each person who arrives at the party.

  • Once everyone is there and has a tag, tell people to mingle until they find the person who completes their sentence!  The last couple to find each other gets a "booby prize".

Synonym Songs

Ingredients

  • Index cards

  • Thesaurus

To Play

  • Pick several titles of well known Christmas songs.  Get out a copy of Roget's Thesaurus, and rewrite the names of the hymn titles using different wording.

  • An example is "The only requirement for the yuletide is my duet anterior dentate", and the actual correct title is "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth". Her are are few more to get you started:

    • Azure Noel - Blue Christmas

    • Toboggan Commute - Sleigh Ride

    • Argent Carillon - Silver Bells

    • Above Upon the Residence's Apex- Up on the Housetop

    • Muted Evening - Silent Night

    • Inaugural Yuletide- First Noel

    • Mirth to Terra Firma- Joy to the World

    • Garnish the Vestibule - Deck the Halls

    • Listen I Perceived the Cherubs Harmonizing - Hark I Heard the Angels Sing

  • Print the "new" titles out on a sheet and have guests guess the original titles.

Have fun, from the Party Girl and the Party-ettes!
