Kids Party Favors
Who doesn't love a great party favor? My kids love seeing what surprise they will get in their goodie bags. I love creating the perfect favor for my kid's birthday parties. The kids love to help pick out the perfect gift for their friends, put together the bags and pass them out at their parties. Here are my top suggestions for great kids birthday party favors.
craft supplies
You can't ever go wrong giving kids art and crafts supplies. Many of the popular themes right now even have craft supplies to match the theme. Try a Mickey Mouse coloring book with crayons for a Mickey party. You can often find themed coloring pages online that can be printed at home for next to nothing. Here are some crafts favors I've given that have worked out great:
- Themed coloring books and crayons
- Clay or Color dough and cookie cutters - many of these come in sets you can break down
- Sidewalk chalk
- Beading kits
Candy buffets
Candy is always popular, but it's especially hot right now with candy and candyland theme parties. Setting up a candy buffet it fun, easy and a big hit! Go to a local candy store or look online for bulk wrapped candy. Set them out on a table in an assortment of different shaped jars or vases. Put out bags and scoops and let the kids get sugar happy!
custom cds
We threw a rock 'n roll theme birthday party for my son's 2nd birthday and used the fabulous "Rock Star 2nd Birthday" party supplies. Adorable...if I do say so myself. The favors were a no-brainer - custom CDs with all of his favorite songs. You can see his cover above with the caricature we used on his invitation. Party411.com can help create custom CDs, cover art and CD labels.
snacks and cupcakes
- Send the kids home with a cupcake in their own cupcake box.
- Fruit snacks - grocery stores have any possible character you can think of! Add them in your favor bag.
- Custom lollipops
- Custom photo cookies
- Pez - my kids love them and they make a perfect favor!
classic favors
There is something to be said for classic party favors. Use them to add to a favor bag or simply make up a bag of small treats. To kids, a large number of small items is often as exciting as one nicer gift. Here are some classics that never go out of style:
- Stickers
- Bubbles
- Noisemakers, whistles and blowouts
- Balls
- Sunglasses and party hats
favor kits
If you're not into all the planning, you can still have a super party favor. Check out a great selection of theme favors that come complete with toys and a themed holder. They were work great for someone who is short on time, patience or simply wants a great themed favor.
bags and boxes
Don't forget that presentation is almost as important as the gift being given in the bag! Choose a fun bag or box to send your favor home. The St. Patrick's Day design above I used for my son's party. (He was born on St. Patrick's Day - what fun for a party planner!) We also have a great assortment of personalized favor bags for you to choose from for your party. Add a cute saying on the cover based around your theme, such as:
- Hope you had a rockin good time with Josh!
- Thanks for being a part of my fairy tale day! Your friend, Sydney
- Have fun "to infinity and beyond!" - Jason
As always, have fun planning and looking for great birthday party favors. I know the kids will have a blast!
