If you can have the party where the entertainment is built in then go for it! If your church or temple has an activity room with toys and playground equipment, see if they have the space available for rent. A bounce house is another great option. The kids will have fun crawling, walking and running around testing out all the toys and equipment.

You can have a few structured activities for the kids to keep them busy:

Face Painting - This is a great activity that kids love. You can paint Cookie Monster, Elmo or Big Bird on their cheek or hand. Have a teenager or another adult paint so you can be available to run the rest of the party.

Cookie Decorating - Always fun and tasty... dessert and activity in one. Before the party, bake sugar cookies and let them cool. 2-3 cookies per child is a good rule of thumb (one to eat, some to take home... and now you have a favor too!) Provide white icing and sprinkles, and a take home container (this custom Sesame Street party favor bag is perfect).
