Girls' Night in Pajamas Bachlorette Party

When was the last time that you had a night in with the girls? Has it been so long that you are having difficulty remembering the fun you used to have at those sleepover parties from your childhood? Pillow fights, late-night snacking, Ouiji boards, truth or dare, mock beauty parlor, prank phone calls… Is it all coming back to you now? If you have a friend that is on her way to the altar, don't send her off with the typical bachelorette party lineup of a stripper, distasteful cake shapes, and mother blushing games! Invite the bride-to-be's buddies over for a girls night in, and throw a pajama party that makes a night out at the bars look like old news.

Bachelorette Party Invitations
A personalized bachelorette party invitation from Party411 is a great way to let everyone know about the fun night you have planned in honor of the bride to be. Provide all the necessary details of the sleepover and whether or not you want each person to bring her own pillow.

For a unique handmade invitation, give each guest a small teddy bear with a veil made out of tulle attached to its head. Tie a string around the bear's arm or leg that has the bachelorette party invitation attached to it.

Another fun idea is to find children's invitations that are specifically for a sleepover party. After all, wasn't childhood where sleepover parties originated? Tell your guests to make sure to bring their favorite stuffed animal and a snack!

Bachelorette Party Decorations and Party Supplies
As the guests walk in, greet them with a life-sized cutout of the guest of honor. Give them a pink glow necklace or a pink lei; wearables bring out the party animal in all of us!

Cover your party room (usually a hotel room or someone's house) with with balloons. Never underestimate the decorating power of balloon bouquets! Group pink and black latex balloons in odd numbered bunches for a great look.

Bachelorette Party Menu
The food for this party is really so easy. Ask each of your guests to bring their favorite bedtime snacks. Popcorn, chips, pizza, veggies and dips will all be appreciated! Just let your guests pick at the food throughout the night. You may want to use some cute bachelorette party paper goods.

If you are planning on drinking, do something fun like Jell-o shots:

Berry Jell-o Shots

  • 1 (3 ounce) package raspberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup vodka
  • Fresh blueberries or raspberries

Mix Jell-o and boiling water in a bowl until the powder is completely dissolved, add vodka and stir. Chill mix for 15 minutes in the refrigerator to firm it up just a bit. Pour the Jell-o into 2 ounce plastic shot glasses. Float a few blueberries or raspberries on top of the shot, or push it into the Jell-o. Chill till firm. Make 12 shots.

Plan for breakfast in the morning with a spread of waffles, eggs, meats, toast, muffins, juices, fruit or pancakes.

Bachelorette Party Activities and Games
Rent fun movies like, My Best Friend's Wedding, Betsy's Wedding, and Four Weddings and a Funeral. Don't forget the classic movies of your generation or of others. We suggest any of these:

  • Gone With The Wind
  • Casablanca
  • Love Story
  • Girls Just Want to Have Fun
  • St. Elmo's Fire
  • Grease
  • Shag
  • Sixteen Candles
  • The Way We Were
  • When Harry Met Sally
  • The English Patient

Pin the Part…: This game really needs little explanation. Buy a poster of a very attractive man, and cut out "parts" from a magazine (or draw your own body parts) to be taped on the poster while each person is blindfolded.

"Do You Hear What I Hear?: As the bride-to-be opens her gifts, write down everything that she says that can be taken in a provocative context. After the gifts have all been opened, read her quotes back to the entire group saying "If we were outside the door on her wedding night, this is what we'd overhear…" It should get some laughs (even though it's not really a game).

Bride/Groom Trivia: Test your partygoers' knowledge of the bride and groom to be. I was at a party somewhat recently where we played this game and it was really funny. Ask the guests questions like, "Where did the couple go on their first date?" "How long before the wedding did the bride cut the groom off from sex?" "How long was it between the couple's first meeting and their 1st tumble in the sack?" The person who answers the most questions correctly wins a prize.

Bachelorette Party Favors
As each guest arrives, take a Polaroid picture of the guest and the bride together. At the end of the party, each guest can take home her picture with the bride in a nice frame.

Another fun take away gift for guests is a "treat bag." Maybe a pair of slippers, a relaxing candle, or a drawer sachet?

Personalized bachelorette party mint and candy tins make a great favor. You get to personalize a cute tin, and everyone loves candy. How can you go wrong? Or hand out chocolate bars wrapped with personalized candy bar wrappers. It's another sweet treat everyone will enjoy!

Have a great time at your Bachelorette Pajama Party!
