Baby Shower Wishing Well

 

A wishing well is a fun addition to a baby shower than any soon to be parents will love.  The concept behind a wishing well is that guests bring small items that the parents will need and add them to the "well".  These small items can range from wipes and diapers to bottles and pacifiers.  They are all small every day items that are must haves for new parents.  They don't need to be wrapped, just added to the well.  

 

A wishing well is a great option for a shower being held at work or for a second child when you don't want guests to bring large gifts.  Everyone will feel like they are contributing, but won't feel obligated to spend a lot of money on a gift.

 

You should note on your invitation if you are going to be having a wishing well.  You can certainly just add the words, "wishing well" at some point on the invitation or add a cute poem.  Here's one that we got from one of our party planning readers:

You can be a creative as your want when displaying the wishing well at your party.  It can simply be a large gift box or you can add a twist.  Here are some wishing well display ideas:

• A bassinet is a great option for your wishing well.  And, it's such a nice gift for the new parents
• How about a giant inflatable treasure chest for a future pirate or a sports cooler for your wishing well?
• A kiddie pool works perfectly as a wishing well
• A wagon that can be used when the baby is older.
