To make a crepe paper canopy over the party area, attach several pieces to the middle of the room with masking tape. Extend it to the corners and walls, twisting as you go. For a multi colored effect, twist two different colors of crepe together. Attach a few balloons over the crepe paper ends to cover any tape and ragged ends.

Another fun idea is to incorporate children's nursery rhymes into your décor. Stick with ones that involve the moon and stars. You can frame them and use them for table decorations or make them poster sized and hang them on the walls. Here are a few to get you started -

Star Theme Baby Shower Table Decorations and Menu
Your tables will be a major focus in the room, so make sure they look great. White linens are perfect if your venue will provide them. If not go with white table covers and a mix of light blue and yellow paper goods.

Use balloon bouquets for your centerpieces. You can also sprinkle some confetti across the top of the tables, I would use a mix of silver star confetti and blue star confetti.

The food that you serve at a baby shower depends on the time of day you are having the party.

  • Brunch - Serve fruit salad, muffins, bagels, a breakfast casserole or two, along with orange juice, and coffee. You can dress if up a bit with a crepe station (contact a local caterer) and mimosas!
  • Lunch - Serve finger sandwiches cut into star shapes with a cookie cutter, crudités, and potato and macaroni salads. Set out two punches, one alcoholic and one for those who choose not to drink.
  • Mid-Afternoon - People will not be expecting a meal, so serve hors d'oeuvres, mini desserts and drinks. Martinis are sure to be a hit! Garnish with a slice of star fruit.
  • Dinner - Since this is a mealtime you should definitely have some heavier food. Anything that feeds a crowd will work. Wine is appropriate for an evening shower.

For dessert you can go with an array of pastries, a sheet cake, or (my favorite) cupcakes. Or stick with your theme and serve star shaped cookies with yellow and light blue icing.

One final and fun decoration you can make are Napkin Diapers. Take a napkin and fold it in half to make a triangle. Bring the bottom point of the triangle up to the fold. bring in each of the side points to the middle of the "diaper". Secure with a small safety pin. Place one Napkin Diaper at each place setting

Star Theme Baby Shower Games and Activities
One of the main activities at a baby shower is watching the guest of honor open all of the cute baby gifts! When she opens her gifts, make sure someone is writing down who gave what. A family member is usually a better choice than a friend for this job because they are familiar with many of the guests. Also, be ready with a trash bag for all of the paper!
