Job Descriptions
When you're planning a benefit, you want every big challenge and every little
detail to turn out absolutely perfect. But you'll be counting a great deal on lots of
volunteers, and you can't be assured that all of them will do everything 100% accurately,
on time, or to the satisfaction of the Executive Committee.
But you can ensure a higher level of performance by making sure that each committee has
a written job description detailing what functions it is to perform. Be sure to review
this with the head of the committee, and give him/her a written copy to which to refer.
Having everything clearly defined and in writing will help a great deal, especially when
you need to set deadlines for the various functions.
