Touchdown! A Football Bar MitzvahA Bar or Bat Mitzvah Theme
This theme is perfect for a child you loves football. It can be tweaked a bit though and used for any sport played in a stadium!
Football Bar Mitzvah Invitations
Or use a great photo ticket invitation with your child's face or a personalized ticket invitation to invite your guests! What could be better than a ticket to the game? You can even write that they need the ticket for entry to the party and have someone standing at the door as a ticket taker. You can even rent turnstiles for your guests to walk under.
A caricature or semi-custom caricature invitation is also a great option for such a special party. They are completely personalized for your child and are great for centerpieces, sign in boards, seating cards and other decorations at your party. You can even throw some football confetti in the envelope.
Welcome and Cocktail Area
Greet guests with a life-sized cutout of your child dressed as football player with a speech bubble welcoming everyone to the game.
Imprinted cocktail napkins are great for cocktails and dessert at a Bar Mitzvah. Why not try something witty, like, "Wipe your mouth before you score at (Child's Name)'s Bar/Bat Mitzvah (include the date)." Or choose a fun preprinted football theme cocktail napkin.
Serve adults beer right out of the can with a ref shirt drink holder or in 14oz NFL football cup like at the stadium. Better yet, serve them in light up pilsner glasses. The first drink for the kids can be served in a football water bottle complete with straw. Don't forget plenty of water for your stadium. Bottles with personalized labels are great at each place or at the bars. Bars and buffets can be decorated with football lights.
Sign-in Area and Seating Card Area
Instead of just using table numbers, you can name each table after a different football stadiums, teams or specific players. Your guest's seating cards should indicate a table number (it's easier to find the table this way) and the table name.
For seating cards, use a football theme seating card showing the name of the table where the guest is sitting, the guest's name and table number. Or look for a small football and write the guest's seating information right on the ball.
You may want to have a bouquet of balloons at this area to draw people over to
this area! The Party Room
At the next door into the party room, display a sign saying …"(Child's Name) welcomes all Football Bar/Bat Mitzvah Super Stars!"
If you are having a candle lighting ceremony, don't settle for a boring taper candle. Choose football candles for your ceremony. Or have a diagram of the playing field with thirteen positions. Those being honored will put a "football" representing them on the field (attached with Velcro).
Along with dancing, offer a fun football activity at your party. An electronic football toss or football video game will be a big hit! You can rent these from local party and event companies.
Football Table Decorations
Have fun with linens at the party! If each table is named for a different team, then use those team colors on that table. You can also have the balloons match the team colors. If you're party is focusing on one team then use the colors of your team. If if the party center you are using only has white linens, see if they can get you napkins in the colors of your teams. Don't forget to decorate your napkins! Wrap football beads or football whistle around the napkins.
For a fun centerpiece, use a football piñata with balloons coming off the top. We love using hats for centerpieces - they are inexpensive, fit perfectly, and we guarantee your guests will end up wearing them later in the evening. A felt football hat with a small hole in the top is perfect for balloons. Or, have a helmet on each table that represents the team the table is named for with balloons attached to the helmet. No matter what you choose for your centerpieces, surround them with cheerleading pompoms! Instead of candles on the tables, choose personalized mini tabletop lanterns with your child's photo on all four sides. The all come with LED candles and look great surrounding a centerpiece.
Put one personalized camera on each table for your guests to use for pictures! They can take them home if you're like, or leave them so you can see what great pictures everyone took during the evening. A football theme photo op is a great item for your pictures,
Then print up a "game day program" but with the Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrant on the cover listing items about him and the special people helping him celebrate. It's fun at each place and your guests will love reading it that evening.
