Black and Orange Halloween Ball

An Elegant Halloween Celebration

This Halloween celebrate with a Black and Orange Ball that is easy to put together, but elegant at the same time. Think about it, Halloween decorations, invitations and favors all in black and orange.  It’s fabulous.

Halloween Ball Invitations

Personalized Eyeball Halloween InvitationYou want your guests to know what a fantastic Halloween party your Black and Orange Ball will be, so send a personalized Halloween Ball invitation that will knock their socks off! Let your guests know that this is a "black (or orange) tie affair", so they come in their black or orange best. Add some stardust black confetti to the envelope for a sparkly touch.

You can also turn your Black and Orange Halloween Ball into a masquerade by sending a black mask with your invitation.  Mail them in padded envelopes or hand deliver them.

If your feeling creative, make your own invitations from black and orange cardstock. Add some stardust black confetti to the envelope for a sparkly touch.

Black and Orange Halloween Decorations and Party Supplies

3-D Bat ChandelierWelcome guests to your ball with a black and orange foil banner near the doorway. For an extra special treat have an quivering doorman at your door to great them.

Lower the lighting for a romantically spooking setting. Place black rose bouquets in vases throughout the room, and place a few orange battery operated flicker candles around each one (they look realistic but won't catch anyone's costume on fire!)

Orange and black lanterns are incredible hanging from the ceiling.  Be sure to put some over the dance floor! A black chandelier is perfect over your buffet or bar, and place one in the hallway too.

Set the mood with soft spooky classical music playing in the background. Try a few of these selections, and everyone will be toe tapping in terror!

  • Brahms - Piano Quintet in g minor, Op. 25
  • Bach - Toccata and Fugue in d minor, BWV 565
  • Grieg - In the Hall of the Mountain King
  • Mendelssohn - First Walpurgis Night
  • Orff - Carmina Burana, O Fortuna
  • Gluck - Dance of the Furies
  • Mussorgsky - A Night on Bald Mountain
  • Mozart - Requiem "Dies Irae"

Skeleton Hand SconceDecorate your mantle with the midnight lace mantle scarf with orange lights and a black candelabra on each end. Small carved jack o' lanterns can decorate side tables and the inside of your fireplace.

If you are looking for a few stunningly spooky decorations we recommend these great skeletal sconces with flickering candle fingers. Another wonderful decoration that fits the elegant Halloween theme is this haunted shaking chandelier, no ball should be without one!

To further decorate your ballroom you can float candles in clear containers. Tint the water orange or even red (mix red and purple for a deep color). On the walls you can place a lenticular horror frame which will give all of your guests the willies. Black leaf garland is the perfect finishing touch for all those areas that still need a touch of black.

Black and Orange Halloween Tabletop and Menu

Glitter CandelabraThe black & orange party kit will make setting the table easy (and easy to clean up!) Place a few glitter candelabras down the middle of the table, and sprinkle pumpkins and bats confetti around the bases.

Orange cutlery will look fantastic wrapped in a black napkin and tied with orange ribbon, or use a black and orange "trick or treat" necklace for a napkin ring (it doubles as a favor too!) Place the wrapped silverware in coffin silverware caddies on the table or buffet.

Serve food on orange glitter platters and in orange glitter bowls. A clear skull wine goblet at each place setting is the final elegant touch.

The food at your Black and Orange Ball should be elegant. If you are doing a sit down dinner you should consider a stunning entrée such as rack of lamb or beef tenderloin. Serve sweet potatoes and roasted squash on the side, and devils food cake for desert.

Hors d'oeuvres are fine in lieu of a formal dinner. Whip up some Halloween recipes that are great to put on trays and pass around. Stuffed mushrooms, crudités platters with assorted dipping sauces, crab cakes, cheese and crackers, hot artichoke dip and other appetizers are appropriate. You can decorate the buffet or the desert table with a spider web ceiling tapestry above the table and a few votive candles and skull vases across the back of the table.

Your guests will be having such a great time, they are bound to get thirsty. He can hold the cocktail napkins and garnishes, and will have your guests howling with laughter! Serve a great black and orange signature drink -

Jack O' Tini
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1/4 ounce pumpkin puree
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • Black liquorice

Combine vodka, pumpkin and orange juice in shaker with ice, shake well and strain into the glass. Garnish with black liquorice.
