Preschool Graduation Party
Your child has loved spending 3 or 4 years at preschool. What could be better than making new friends, having snacks, hearing stories, arts and crafts and lots of running around? Next year it's off to Kindergarten. I know you're in shock at how fast time flies! So, who says a graduation party has to be just for high school or college? Throw a preschool graduation party at home or at school for all of the families. Another photo op with the kids!
Graduation Invitations
Get the kids involved: The fun begins with the invitation. Print a basic black and white invitation on a full sheet of paper and let the kids decorate them with crayons and stickers. These can be sent home with the kids at the end of the day or mailed out to all the families. If you're hosting this party at home, it's ok to send invitations with your child to school as long as you invite everyone in the class. You can invite the teachers too, but don't be offended if they can't make it to the party. They spend LOTS of time with the kids and enjoy nice quiet weekends.
You can also choose a personalized Graduation invitation from Party411. Throw in some fun 2009 confetti in the envelope. The kids will love it! If the party is being held at school with a graduation ceremony, be sure to let parents know. They'll want to invite Grandma and Grandpa and maybe they'll bring a bouquet of flowers or a small gift for their graduate.
Graduation Decorations and Party Supplies
Get the kids involved: Bring out that construction paper again and let the kids decorate signs and pictures for the walls. Another fun idea is to cutout giant numbers to spell 2009 and have the kids put their hand stamp on the numbers. (Don't feel like cutting? Here is a precut 2009 giant cutout)
If you're hosting the party at home with your graduate as the star, why not have a fun life-sized cutout of your child dressed as a graduate. (We can make it shorter to match your child's height).
Here are some other fun and inexpensive graduation decorations that we recommend you add around the party: If your party is at home or school, you won't need to offer a lot to eat at this party. Cookies and juice are just fine. You can even ask families to bring different snacks for the party.
Be sure to add a bit of decor to the table. A
graduate cap cascade centerpiece is inexpensive and fun.

Preschool Graduation Activities
Get the kids involved: Yes, get them involved again! A great class project (or home project) is to make your own graduation cap. Here's what you'll need:
Trim the bowl to fit over the child's head and attach a square of cardboard over the top of the bowl with glue. Make your tassel by taking a long strand of yarn and wrapping it around your fingers a few times. Tie the ribbon together and cut the other end of the ribbons. Tie on an extra piece of ribbon that is longer to the tassel so it can hang. Poke a small hole in the top of the hat (let an adult do this, of course) and pull your tassel though. Tape it on the inside of the hat. The kids can help with the glueing and can help wrap ribbon around their fingers. They can also decorate their hats with stickers and crayons.
At your graduation, all the kids can march to the front of the room wearing their graduation caps. Have some graduation music in the background and it's sure to make all the parents and grandparents cry with joy... or at least laugh at the cuteness of all the kiddies.
