Tammy asked:
Occasion: Christmas Party for Secretaries
What would be some fun games for a small group (15) of ladies that are meeting for a Christmas get-together? They do not work in the same office but do work for the same company in offices at various locations. Plan to have small prizes for the winners.
The Game Girl says:
Try a few of these:
Blow up a picture of the boss and play a game of Pin the Nose.
Here's a game called "How well do you know your co-worker?" Collect one personal item from each worker's desk. Set them all up on a table in the
party room. Have the office staff try to guess what belongs to which office mate. It won't be easy with the items not in their usual places!
Have each co-worker photocopy a body part, such as his or her profile, hair, arm, hand, shoes - using the office copy machine. Hang the copies on the wall and have the group try to match identities to each of the copies. Should be fun - and funny - depending on what they choose to photocopy!
Write up a set of trivia questions, with one question for each guest attending. List the questions on one sheet of decorative
paper and hand it out to guests as they arrive. They are to read over the list and try to find a match for each question. The person who gets
the most correct answers wins a prize! This should get them mixing.

The Game Girl says:
Try a couple of these:

If you have a bit of a looser crowd, try this: Have each co-worker photocopy a body part, such as his or her profile, hair, arm, hand, shoes - using the office copy machine. Hang the copies on the wall and have the group try to match identities to each of the copies. Should be fun - and funny - depending on what they choose to photocopy!

Occasion: corporate holiday party
My company is planning a holiday party. Well, my
>co-worker and I are planning the party, and we are really at a loss as to what kind of games we can play to entertain everyone. We don't want to gather everyone together merely to drink and eat; we want to have fun! It's kind of formal. Any suggestions?

Nancy asked:
Occasion: End of the Year Teacher's Party
What type of relaxed entertainment can we as the
Social Club present to our teachers? We all have
teacher "burn out." Just need to think of something fun
to do at the end of the year.
The Game Girl says:
I've got a few ideas listed below. Hope they help.
Laurie asked:
Occasion: School Staff party
What are some games that would be appropriate
and entertaining? Thanks.
The Game Girl says:
You might try some games based on your school, and
ask trivia questions about the prinicipal, the school
building, the classrooms, etc. Then try some of the
games listed below.

Karen asked:
Occasion: Post Trade Show Party
At the end of each trade show we have a staff dinner party to celebrate our success. I was
thinking of games like Family Feud or Jeopardy, but don't know quite how to put something
like that together. Any suggestions?
The Game Girl says:
You've made my job so easy! These are two great TV games that work wonderfully for
group entertainment. For Family Feud, select groups of people to work together, pick two
teams, and set them up in front of the audience. Choose someone dynamic to ask the
questions, then take turns asking the two teams questions related to the company, the
trade show, or each other. When one team has won the round, let two other teams have a
try. Same with Jeopardy, only have two people play at the same time. Make the questions
related to the event or the people for added fun. And try Wheel of Fortune, too, by
writing down spaces for phrases you commonly use during the trade show event. Then have
everyone take turns guessing letters and naming the phrase!
Wendy asked:
Occasion: Office Appreciation Luncheon
I need different types of games to play at an office Luau party! Please Help!
The Game Girl says:
A Luau at an office party! You must have a fun place to work! First have a hula
contest, where guests follow the instructions of a hula teacher. The best hula dancer wins
a prize. If you can't hire a hula dance teacher, have a Hula Hoop contest and see who can
keep it up the longest...How about a limbo contest to see how low you can go? Then a
pass-the-orange where teams compete in a line to pass an orange down the row - without
using their hands! Check out THE BEST PARTY BOOK and PICK A PARTY in the Party411
Bookstore for more ideas to suit the theme! Aloha!
Jami Wolfe asked:
Occasion: Pre-conference mixer
Any ideas on a get-to-know-you game for 40 or so adults? Should be entertaining but not
require too much effort as people will have worked all day and have a conference the next
day.
The Game Girl says:
The easiest way to get them acquainted at a relaxed pace is to write up a set of trivia
questions, with one question for each guest attending. List the questions on one sheet of
decorative paper and hand it out to guests as they arrive. They are to read over the list
and try to find a match for each question. The person who gets the most correct answers
wins a prize! This should get them mixing.
Bev asked:
Occasion: Staff Spring Party at a Restaurant
What kind of games could we play at a spring fling party at a restaurant. We all work for
a major department store chain in Canada.
The Game Girl says:
Have each person bring one item from their different departments at the store. While
you're sitting at the table, take turns holding up each item. Players must try to guess
the price of each, and write down the guesses on a sheet of paper. The one who comes the
closest in price to all the items wins one of the items.
