Rock 'N Bowl Fundraiser
Use
Non-profit fundraiser
Entry
Have your design or party planning firm create (out of cardboard or foam-core) a
set of 10 bowling pins. Each pin should be dressed as a rock star, complete with outfit
and holding a guitar or other musical instrument. The ten pins together comprise a singing
group called "The Strike Outs."
As you guests entry, they walk by this singing group, with music playing in the
background. Boy, will your guests know that this party is going to be different!
Name tags
Name tags should look like bowling score sheets, which can be easily created on
computer. Each guest just fills in his or her name, title (if appropriate), and bowling
average. Needless to say, these name tags make great conversation starters throughout the
evening.
Ambiance
If your caterer will go along with it, have your servers wear special aprons with
some visual of bowling pins on them. The aprons should also include the name of the
fundraiser (or organization), the date, city, etc. imprinted on them. This is a very nice
touch, and not expensive to create.
Activities
There are plenty of activities that could really enliven this theme. Among them:
- Human bowling could (and should!) be going on somewhere. (Ask your local prop house
about this very popular game
or e-mail themes@party411.com
if you need more info.
- FotoFavors: Create keychains, mugs, magnets, whatever as photo souvenirs.
- Pass out single-use cameras for people to snap photos of one another.
- Glow jewelry is always funglasses, necklaces, earrings, you name it!

Photo Opportunity
If you want this event recorded either in the organizations newsletter or in the
local media, try this fun photo idea. Make an empty, hollow photo frame out of miniature
dancing bowling pins (cardboard or foamcore) that individuals can stand in for a quick
photo. A photographer should walk through the crowd with an assistant to encourage people
to gather in the frame, and get their photo taken. Your guests will love it!
